Strike one! Strike two! Strike three!

Baseball! America’s Pastime, and a sport growing in popularity throughout the world, where the Boys of Summer slug it out. A baseball game is the perfect way to spend a lazy summer afternoon, plus it provides opportunities to take photos that last a lifetime.

While many claim the sport of baseball is a slow-paced affair, when action does occur, it can happen very swiftly, almost too fast for an unskilled photographer to shoot the photos they desire. Baseballs fly quickly when hit or thrown, and timing the action for when to take a digital photograph requires split-second reflexes. Thus, before you plan on taking photos at a baseball game, you may wish to read the following advice:

1) First, make sure you are allowed to bring your digital camera to the baseball game. Some ballparks have no restrictions, others on the zoom length, some on using flash, and some may not allow you into the baseball game at all with your camera!

2) Change your camera settings to take the quickest photographs possible while still providing plenty of light for the photograph. You’ll need to read your camera’s manual on how to change these settings; for example, consider saving photos as JPG instead of RAW to take photos faster.

Just remember that the quicker the shutter speed, the less light enters the camera to take the picture. Thus, you’ll need to compromise picture speed and the amount of light to take great photos. That is why baseball games work well with photography – many games are played on sunny days or in well-lit domes or stadiums that allow you to take crisp, high-action photos.

3) Before going to a big league ballpark, make sure you know the rules and nuances of the game. Practice taking photos at a minor-league, college, or high school baseball game. The stakes aren’t quite as high if you miss a shot, and taking your camera to a game will give you more insight into when action occurs and when players just stand around.

4) Have extra batteries and digital camera memory handy and practice switching both out quickly before the game! A three and a half hour game can put a tremendous strain on even the most power-miserly camera, and more often than not you will have to switch out power or memory in the middle of an inning.

5) Don’t worry if you miss a shot! Unless you have tons of digital camera memory, you may not be able to continuously shoot photograph after photograph. If you miss a key pitch, the swing of a bat, or a forced out, don’t get angry! More often than not, new opportunities will arise for great photographs.

6) Study the lineup first. Know who are the key players and those who barely know how to swing a bat. Likewise, learn who has loose hands in the outfield and who is likely to win a Gold Glove. Focus your attention on the stars as they most likely will make the best photographs, but don’t be so drawn to celebrity that you miss a role player making a crucial steal or diving catch that wins the game for their team!

7) When the opening lineup starts, look at the dugout. If you’re rooting for the home team, the beginning of the game is a great time to get player photographs as they are running out onto the field. If not, take photographs during the middle of the inning. If you don’t get the perfect photo, delete bad photographs during lull times and try later during the game.

To take a picture of a swinging batter that will last a lifetime, do the following:

*) Preparation is the key. First, before the game, know how to operate your digital camera. Practice focusing the camera and quickly deleting unused photos – sometimes you can delete an unwanted photo before it is completely saved to the camera’s memory.

*) Before the pitch, focus your viewfinder on the batter’s box and try not to cut out any of the batter’s body. Zoom in as appropriate, but remember the more you zoom in, the slower the potential shutter speed needed to take a clear photo.

*) Anticipate shutter lag. Lock your focus before the pitch; this usually is done by pressing the shutter button down half-way.

*) Time it… time it… then as soon as the ball is about to hit the bat, press down fully on the shutter button.

*) If the pitch is a strike or the swing is not one to be remembered, cancel the save so your picture is not written to memory. This way, you can save room for other photos.

9) Look around for photo opportunities not directly related to the action. Take a photograph of the grounds crew cleaning the bases and raking the dirt between innings. Get a few shots of the crowd. Take a picture of the scoreboard. Look at the surrounding area. If you want to remember the full experience of a baseball game years from now, you should take advantage of one of the best features of a digital camera – the ability to take lots and lots of photographs – and shoot photographs showcasing the FULL baseball experience.

10) Take a break during the game! You came to the baseball game to enjoy the spectacle, not just to take pictures, right? Designate a few innings as photo-free time where you just sit back, munch on a hot dog, drink a soda, and soak in the environment.

Remember to study your digital camera manual first and practice, practice, practice! Follow these ten tips and you’ll be on your way to taking “home run” baseball photographs in no time.

Do you own a digital camera? Have you started to make the most out of it? Without really starting the features of a digital camera, one can start using his or her digital camera to take beautiful pictures because of the technology embedded into that small little device.

A digital camera can help movies like me to autofocus I do on a mountain view, or a small little beautiful flower. When I first bought my camera, the salesman was very persuasive. And I quote, all you need to do is point and click. I was instantly sold on getting that wonderful camera.

As the days and weeks go by, I began to be familiar with the digital camera and suddenly digital photography became a passion for me. I wanted to take more than just ordinary pictures! I dug through my old closet and found the manual to this digital camera and started reading it. I learned about quality, that a 300 dpi will produce a better quality than a 72 dpi resolution. If only I have learned this much earlier! I learned about shutter speeds and exposure, white balance and how to remove red eye effects… digital photography is becoming very interesting!

Do you have problem taking pictures through a window? every time I take a picture to a window, there is always a reflection on the picture. Sometimes the reflection is so small I can only is it after I transfer it onto my computer. If only I knew to stand closer to the window, I would have reduced the reflection that reflects on shiny surface of the glass.

Have you tried to take pictures in the dark? if you try to use the flash with the camera, the picture could look too bright. Especially if you use it in a jungle, you will scare away most of the animals. There is a way to use the camera to take pictures without flash in the dark. That is to increase your light exposure. You can control your shutter speed by decreasing it. By decreasing the shutter speed, you allow more light to go your camera and brighten up the dark picture.

In addition to the light present, the amount of light that is reflected from the image is then absorbed into the shutter. The longer the shutter close its lead, the high exposure and brighter the image. Have you wonder how cats can see very well in the night? Their eyes are so sensitive to light, a candle in the dark can lid up a whole room for them. It takes some practice for you and I to learn about the shutter speed. Experiment and testing is crucial to know what is the correct speed.

As digital camera is getting cheaper and cheaper these days, digital photography is being picked up by many amateur Digital photographers. The younger generation to be able to pick up on softwares in many leading pictures past digital photography is a growing hobby.

The different variety of cameras that are in use these days, range from the normal manual camera, to the automatic camera and to the digital camera. And the best place to find all of these is in the range of Canon digital camera models which are available on the market today. .

Canon is constantly updating its products and you have a wide range of styles and features available when you go in for a Canon digital camera. These features can be found in many different digital cameras like that of the Canon Digital SD550, the Canon Digital PowerShot S2, and others of its ilk.

The features to be found on the different canon digital cameras can range from a larger than average LCD display, to stereo sound recording, to low image noise resolution and others. To see what the various features are for the different camera models you might have to compare them as you go when you shop around.

For instance you will find that the Canon digital camera PowerShot S2 has a 5 Mega pixel CCD, and a new Night Display which allows your LCD and EVH to become brighter in low light. You will also find movie options in this Canon digital camera like mic level, and a wind filter which you will not find on the earlier models.

With the Canon digital camera SD500 features like a continuous shooting mode can be found, as well as a redeye reduction option which has been designed into the camera via a built-in illuminator. This Canon digital camera also has a 1.8 low temperature LCD, a Flash Exposure Lock function to help you in your photography.

Some of the features to be found in these more expensive Canon digital cameras can also be found in the less expensive digital compact cameras. This diversity in features and models is also reflected in the price of the many Canon Digital cameras as they can start from about $100 and go upwards.

The actual price of the cameras should be looked into at the time you are thinking of buying your camera, as the prices will be subject to fluctuation and advances in technology.

When youre looking at the range of Canon digital cameras besides finding out what are the various functions and features you might also want to find out what accessories are part of the camera, and which ones youҒll have to buy separately.

These accessories for the Canon digital cameras include things like a telephoto lens, a wide angle lens, a battery charger or kit, an A/C power adaptor, external flash, and a carrying case amongst other things.

As you can see from the number of options available to you, buying a camera isnt what it used to be fifty years ago, there are a number of things that you will want to look into first before buying your camera. But with the Canon digital camera range the world can be at your fingertips as you can choose the perfect camera to suit you.

My first tip for taking digital photography for anyone whether they are beginning, or have some degree of experience is donӒt be frightened of your camera. Get used to handling your camera so that you feel comfortable with it. Make sure you know where all the controls are, and familiarise yourself with their functions. This is one of the basic beginning photography tips that often gets overlooked as it is such an obvious one.

Once you are comfortable handling your digital camera and have learnt how to use all the controls and functions, my next tip for taking digital photography is to take lots and lots of pictures. The beauty of digital photography is that you do not need to keep every picture that you take. You are not paying for a long processing sequence like you would be if you were using a camera that uses rolls of film, so you can be a lot more extravagant when it comes to taking pictures. Plus you may just take a prize winning photo purely by chance, and any photos you donԒt want you can simply delete.

Another of the basic beginning photography tips that people often forget is to hold the camera steady. Again this may sound pretty obvious but its surprising just how many of us forget this simple little tip when we rush to get a good photo. It is important to actually practice holding the camera so that you automatically steady it for every picture that you take. How often have you seen the chance of a great picture only to rush it and ruin the shot? ItҒs far better to get one or two great pictures than dozens of blurred or poor quality ones.

My next tip is to always make sure that you have enough memory capacity on your digital camera. There is nothing worse than coming across something that would make a great picture only to find that you have no more room on your camera. Get into the habit of going through the photos stored on your camera on a regular basis, and deleting the ones you dont want, and downloading and storing the ones you do want onto your computer, or have them printed off. Also buy a second card for your camera so that you always have a spare one with you just in case you need it.

Once you have got this far you should have loads of photos that you have taken, now is the time to study these and see if there is room for improvement. Maybe some of them are still coming out slightly blurred, so you will need to pay attention to your focusing. Remember that a digital camera has a tendency to take a little longer to focus when compared to a camera that uses roll film.

Maybe you are not happy with the lighting on some of your pictures, so try practising using the flash. The flash on a camera is not only designed to be used when taking photos indoors, it is also great for getting good sharp pictures outside as well, especially if the subject is in shade or if the natural light is low, like in the late evening.

I suppose that one of the most important beginning photography tips that I can give you is to ғget out there and have some fun with your camera. Take loads of photos and practice as you go. Use your camera as often and as much as you can. My last little tip would to be to get hold of a good book on digital photography, this way you will get all the tips for taking digital photography and learn all the usual mistakes to avoid right from the start.

1. Business Plan
2. Advertising and Marketing
3. Branding
4. Networking
5. Sales

1. In order to achieve and perpetuate a profitable photography business or any other business, it is very essential to have a vision where you would like to see your business grow, expand and head in the future. Visualizing and capturing your thoughts on paper and then producing a business plan is very essential. It will create a sense of direction as well as prioritization in regards to the financial, creative and self fulfilling needs. Refer back to it often and donʼt be scared to rewrite it, add to it or scratch things off as you develop yourself and business alike.

2. Advertising is great, however when starting a brand new business, budget allocated to advertising will be minimal as you will have tons of other expenses. As such I strongly recommend for you to realize your target audience. In wedding photography, it will be brides averaging the age of 20-35. You need to find out where your local brides hang out online and off, and how to reach them. Once they start talking about you and your amazing business and how remarkable it is, a word of mouth is unparalleled to any other form of advertising. It is FREE and very strong as it usually comes from a friend, family or someone who can vouch for your great, remarkable work. Once you build your portfolio (at least a few weddings) you will have some images to showcase, which leads me to point 3.

3. Online presence and blog. In this day and age, most of your target audience will find you, check you out and access your portfolio and compatibility online. Having a strong web site visually driven will be a definitive plus. Going through lots of research and trial and error I found that as oppose to making your own site which will not look very professional (unless you are a web designer and programmer) or paying hundreds of dollars to custom create one for you, the best way to go is buying a photography driven template. One that is easy to update, customize your interface from colours, fonts, logo, feel, images…et al. You can pick up a template as low as $100 and have a really presentable and professional looking site in a matter of days. Also, I definitively recommend creating a blog which can be a very resourceful marketing tool adjacent to your web site. You can create a free blog with www.blogspot.com.

Once you get the hang of it, it is really easy updating it with photos, stories, youtube videos or any other content you choose to share with your clients, friends and blog stockers. Your clients will be able to see your
current work as well as be able to relate to you on a personal level if you choose to blog about your personal life. This way your potential brides will feel more comfortable, have a easier time meeting you and feel more partial to hiring you as oppose to someone they have not seen in pictures. It really does work. Numerously, I have brides mention how much easier it was meeting us, because they felt like they already knew us through our blog. So blog about anything and everything. Blog your weddings, engagement shoots, personal work, personal life to your comfort and you will see the potential.

4. As many people say or perhaps you have heard this phrase: Network is your Net worth. I canʼt stress enough. Network, network and network. You might feel isolated in this industry, but networking can help you get to know your colleagues, pass referrals onto one another, and once again amplify your own word of mouth advertising via your brides. Who should you network with, might you ask? With your clients, wedding photoʼs and other wedding vendors such as coordinators, venues and halls, florists, djʼs, limos…et al. Simple thing such as acknowledging them and linking to them
via your blog posts or sending them a promo DVD of their products ie; floral arrangements will surely spark up a good and mutually beneficial working relationship. Also donʼt forget the many forums, online chats and other social networks like http://www.facebook.com that will allow you to connect to other professionals and potential clients.

5. Your run your photographic business for the passion of the art, creativity, interpersonal relationships and the positive environment you surround yourself with ie: weddings and people in love. However you are running this venture for profit as well. Do not forget that. Pay yourself first! All sales start from an email inquiry, telephone call or a consultation.

In fact sometimes they follow that exact order as described above. Always pick up the phone and show your potential client the service you can provide that they are expecting. Price yourself accordingly. Research your local competition and see what is being offered with regards to services and products. Customize your packages and try to differentiate yourself from the pack. Donʼt be afraid to ask what you think you are worth. Price yourself to specifically to the target audience you are after. Socio-economical brides come in many levels with many different expectations and needs.

According to your prices you will or will not attract a certain audience. If you choose to price yourself a bit higher then your competition, make sure you can justify it with abilities, experiences and artistically.

Consultations are very important. Offer them free with no obligations. This is your first, in person point of contact with your potential client and time to show your work and really sell yourself! It is also a time to interview your client to see if this match is backwards compatible. Think of incentives to close the deal the day of consultation or allow clients to do their homework, think about it and get back to you. If you were mutually a good match and the client was able to relate to you, they will come back. Price is not everything! We establish a good rapport from a get go and most of our clients become our friends. The whole experience becomes much more personal and fun! So, get out there, be fun, creative, love your job and get
paid well!
